Alien Species: Drox (Project A)

I guess I'll be delivering sooner than I thought I would; here's to some aliens from my Project A world building:


The Drox are a crimson skinned, semi-mammalian species from the planet Xaxmar. Their homeworld possesses very high gravity compared to Earth, an irradiated surface, and often unpredictable weather. To live in such a harsh place, an organism would have to evolve to become hardy, adaptable, and aggressive; hence, why the Drox came to evolve as they had. 

The most obvious adaptation to their harsh homeworld is a stout, dense body with thick bones and heavy muscles. Particularly, their feet are large so that they can support the weight of their own bodies, which is made incredibly heavy by their planet's extreme gravity. They also have thick, eight millimeter thick skin to help protect their cells from the active radiation that often surrounds them. They also have claws on their hands and feet for protection against predators, as well as a fairly well developed sense of hearing. Despite their large, circular eyes, their quality of vision isn't as acute as it is in Humans; regardless, they can see into the beginning levels of the infrared spectrum, allowing them to visualize heat signatures like color. They're eyes are often orange in color, and lack pupils... or at least, pupils in the tradition sense.  
 
They are an omnivorous species like Humans, although their teeth are more designed for eating meat, which takes up nearly 70% of their diet; they need to maintain their heavily muscled forms. While they have mammalian features, such as hair, warm blood, and giving birth to live young, the females do not produce milk to nurture their offspring like a traditional mammal. They have an immune system more powerful than that of a Human, as well as significantly higher resistance to physical harm, for example: While a single bullet may stop a Human, several shots would be needed to take down an angry Drox. And also, despite their imposing appearance, they are actually shorter than the average Human, with most members of their species reaching heights of about 5'2 feet (158 centimeters). They breathe oxygen like most organisms, and the color of their blood is a mysterious, grey-blue color with slight translucency. 

The Drox are a very capable space faring species, and have created a massive multi-galaxy spanning empire known as the Supremacy. The Supremacy is the leading empire of the Dominion, which is a collection of several other alien empires who vow for conquest and seek to impose their will on those who don't agree with their philosophies. To say the least, the Drox are the main 'badguys' of the Project A universe.    

One of the things that came to me as I was drawing this was how the Drox commonly clothe themselves. While a Human wardrobe may contain shirts, pants, dresses and etc, the Drox often possess several sheets of embroidered cloth, each with different shapes, sizes, and designs. They take these sheets of cloth and wear them around their hips, secured with a large belt or rope. This form of clothing is relatively simple and very unisex; although, females are more often seen wearing longer sheets of these cloth segments. The Drox might also wear large open shirts or greek robe-like garments, but what you see here is the most common form of clothing.
